Mellow Yellow

Ok. So, first let me preface this with that I accidentally deleted a few of my many shots in this look and in the land of photos <as far as I know> - once you delete you NEVER see them again. So these are the shots that I had available. Hope they still work! I really loved this comfy yellow sweater. It still allows me to be warm for winter with a bright color which I LOVE!

The weather in Raleigh is so strange because it doesn't know if it wants to be hot or cold.

So, since its winter I threw a scarf on but since it also still somehow feels like a breezy summer day I thew on my white pants! AND OF COURSE...The chambray -- which is SO HOT RIGHT NOW!  

**But just a reminder it was also in style in the early 1990's >> It's no secret that trends these days are almost always traceable to another decade because fashion is completely cyclical. But, that being said: I'm bada ba ba baaaa LOVIN it! 

When you have an outfit with ALOT going on you need a simple but fab necklace!

Never Enough LBD's

I live for the LBD. So much so I had to change my New Year's resolution to say - "I will wear more colors." Because by default when I am in a rush or unsure of what to wear or in a fashion panic... I say "when in doubt- black it out" haha! It worked for me for a long time but now I am defaulting to bright colors too. Either way an LBD is a must have and this one from Cache is lovely. 

There are so many great ways you can wear a Little Black Dress! You can dress it up or down.You can rock it with a jacket or boots or go out to a party with a great pair of colorful pumps.

I feel like everything in the stores right now is pattern happy.
I wore these three patterned up dresses on the show this week. I truly used to be so against patterns <I just never thought they were flattering but now I have a love for them.

Speaking of patterns...
Nate and I had a pattern of not going out and living on Netflix and ice cream haha! BUT we have finally decided to start venturing out at night in Raleigh! We recently ate at The Pit in Raleigh.... its a super popular BBQ spot and I learned the eastern/western BBQ lingo. The main difference in eastern and western is the sauce = the west is more of a thicker, sweeter sauce. In eastern North Carolina it’s a mayonnaise-based slaw and in western North Carolina it’s a ketchup-based red slaw. 
Who knew BBQ could be so complex haha?! 

So the moral of the story is were going out more. Changing up the patterns of life and the patterns in my outfit. How do you feel about Patterns & the ever popular tunic??

um, CAN YOU SAY TGIF! I am loving blues right now and this high-waisted skirt was so fun to wear on the show this week.

You don't always have to pair high-waist skirts with button-down or dressy shirts. You can dress this skirt style down with a simple V-neck or tank top. I love heels with high-waist skirts because I feel like they just make you look longer while creating a slimming silhouette.

You can also try tights and ankle boots with a high-waist skirt if you want to go for an edgy look.
